3 minus 2 and 5

Welcome to the initial posting of the Familia Pfefferkorn Blog. This is kind of like on the job training. Just adding the addresses of our beloved ones that we want to be allowed to access our family blog resulted ( I think) in an invitation to all of our beloved to see a shell of a blog. Yikes! So not too much to see just yet, but I have lots to share and will once I learn the technical side of things.

Lorelei is 3 years minus 2 months. We have felt pretty lucky really throughout the year of two. She is a vivacious and spunky kid with a really hard head. Literally. Fortunately for all of us she isn't quite as stubborn as her mommy (but I swear she really does have a hard head. I have the bruises on my legs to prove it.) She has a unique fashion sense and is an entertainer - singing, dancing, talking, talking, talking. She is taking a ballet class right now and loves it. I have to say that the little leotard thing is awfully cute but she looks more like an athlete than a ballerina. Over the past 4 months, Lorelei has begun learning English. It is amazing how much she has learned in that time. I would say that she has surpassed what a mono-lingual English speaking child would normally be at around age 18 months. A child's mind is truly amazing!

Emma is 5 months old and super easy going - much as Lorelei was as a baby. Emma is also super strong. In fact, she is Super Baby. She is long and rotund. She sits very well, rolls 360 degrees in a flash, and can almost stand on her own. Always a vocal baby, she really kicked it up a notch tonight with non-stop vocalizing (a little like screeching). Emma prefers to be outside and don't get her started on any kind of restraining device (car seat, bouncy seat, stroller). She wants to be free. She started eating rice and oatmeal cereal a month ago and has tried sweet potatoes so far. Then she got sick and so she hasn't moved on to the yummy jar of peas that await her.
