Crystal Anniversary (and Chocolate!)

Yesterday we completed 15 years of marriage. The Year of Crystal. Not a very exciting gift idea. Who wants crystal roses? Or the modern version - clocks! Whoa who! So we ignored that entirely. Andres bought something that I had specifically told him that was on my wish list and then a complete surprise. I now have (and soon will have installed) a radio/cd player for my kitchen. It has been more years than we have been married that I have had in my head that I wanted one of these in my kitchen. Soon I will be able to listen to NPR and classical music and my cds without the huge boom box taking up so much real estate on my counter that my mom and Andres have removed it several times.

And then he also gifted me a Kindle. I didn't know that I wanted or would want to have but wow! It still seems like a completely magical machine. Last night Andres downloaded some of the FREE classics for me. I am currently reading The Time Traveller. I think that this is going to work out better in terms on having at hand, easier to carry out and about with me and I rarely finish a library book before it has to go back. On the other hand, I am a total cheapo about paying upwards of $10 for a book so I will have to really mine the free and cheap books. There must be some kind of "library system for e-books. I guess I'll learn along the way.

As everyone knows, Andres and I have been working at warp speed that feels like slo-mo trying to mold our house and yard into our vision of bliss. I am getting completely wiped out in he process - and we aren't really enjoying it. And because summer is here - I really want us to ENJOY the yard that sold us on the house. We didn't even have a place to sit out there, unless you count the tree stumps. So I bought unfinished chairs and a little table, stained and sealed them and with the addition of mosquito repellent, will get a lot of use this summer.
Andres thoughtfully brought a selection of desserts - each more delicious than the other.
