Emma has been fairly independent as a swimmer for some time, but she would swim the entire length of the pool in a single breathe rather than take some air midway. She has been practicing surfacing and take a breathe and then continuing on her way, but mostly it was surfacing, breathe and reach for a wall or person. But on Tuesday she finally had it down. (Maybe she was taking a few too many breathes per trip, but I'm confident she'll work out a better rhythm with time.)
